About Naneghat:

While visiting or passing through Malshej Ghat, you come across another scenic spot which also serves as an ideal picnic spot. One can get some good views of the neighboring lands like Jivdhan and also the scenic Sahyadri Ranges from here. Very few are still aware of this spot though it they happen to pass through from this spot after passing through Murbad. But you can always spot Naneghat the very next time you pass through the same road if you are into hiking. This is the same peak which resembles the shape of a thumb right on the top of  mountain (Popularly known as the Thumbs Up Point) when you pass through Murbad towards Malshej Ghat. This ghat used to be a trade route from Kalyan to Junnar directly in olden days. Nowadays Naneghat seems to be very famous among trekkers who usually visit in monsoons to catch the glimpse of lush green environs, though it may get a little slippery during monsoons. But still it does not let the spirit die. What say! A clear sky is what one needs though to enjoy the view from the top. Clouds may become a obstacle in your way and may restrict viewing neighboring landscapes.
